Our Training

Copper Island Diving Ltd. is a Scuba Schools International Training Facility. We provide qualified and safe instruction for entry level Open Water Certification and Scuba Rangers (Ages 8-12), and provide continued education such as Stress & Rescue, Search and Recovery, Deep Diving, Night Diving, Altitude Diving, Photography, Navigation, Nitrox, Wreck Diving, Dry Suit Diving, and many more! Our SSI Facility also offers the opportunity for Dive Con and Instructor Candidates to meet all requirements for certification.

Our revolutionary approach to scuba training can be broken into four parts:

1. Knowledge: This is gained in two ways, through home study and during a workshop format at the dive shop.

2. Water Skills: There will be pool times available for you to perfect the skills needed before you proceed to your open water experience.

3. Equipment: Scuba diving is an equipment oriented sport that requires you to always dive with a "Total Diving System". We will assist you in making the right choices for your individual needs.

4. Experience: This is the best part of all. We have an active group of divers in our community. We can "buddy" you up with an experienced local diver, or come join us on various Diving excursions like the West Coast of British Columbia, or on an International trip.

SSI Free Online Training

SSI Open Water Diver

During your SSI Open Water Diver training sessions you will learn all of the necessary skills and safe diving procedures to be a comfortable and confident diver. The SSI Open Water Diver course contains a modular, six-session teaching system which includes a video, manual, study guide, DiveLog and dive tables. Along with SSI's online eLearning, home study approach, you will be able to minimize your time in the classroom allowing for more time in the water developing ability and comfort.

SSI Scuba Rangers

Scuba Rangers is a Scuba Club and Educational Camp for kids between the ages of 8 and 12. Scuba Rangers gives kids the knowledge and skills required to be a safe scuba diver, while encouraging them to have fun. As a Scuba Ranger, kids can Scuba Dive in a pool with real diving equipment!
